Tuesday, April 18th 8:10pm: Kyle Freeland (1-1 5.91) vs. Hyun-Jin Ryu (0-2 5.79)
The Rockies will a quick two game set starting on Tuesday against the Dodgers. A couple of lefties will open the series up, both of whom have ERAs in the high fives, but both have had different starts. Ryu has not managed to complete the fifth inning yet, though that is more on management versus ability. He has only pitched 77 pitches in each of his two starts and has allowed two and four runs in each start as well. Freeland on the other hand, has had a great start, his first career one, and a rougher start, one where he struggled early and got it together. The Rockies would love to take both games to finish with a 5-1 road trip, though a split would be good too.
Wednesday, April 19th 8:10pm: Tyler Anderson (1-2 8.59) vs. Clayton Kershaw (2-1 2.53)
The Rockies have already faced Kershaw on the season and won as well, but at home it will be a different story. For the Rockies, they will try and do something again against the elite lefty, but they will also be looking for an improved start from Tyler Anderson who has struggled thus far. Pitching in the friendly confines of Chavez Ravine will help him, but he also needs to execute and locate, some things that have eluded him early. If there is a game to lose, this is the one, but the Rockies will have some confidence going against Kershaw and hopefully that translates to runs.
