Monday, April 18th 5:10pm: Jordan Lyles (0-1 11.25 ERA) vs. Dan Straily (0-0 3.24 ERA)
To start the series, Dan Straily will get the spot start against Rockies starter Jordan Lyles. Lyles hasn’t gone deeper than 4.2 innings yet this year and will certainly look to change that against the Reds. It won’t be particularly easy, it never is, but Lyles has a good opportunity against an average Reds team. If Lyles can keep the string of solid starts going, the Rockies should win this game and will start the series off on the right foot.
Tuesday, April 19th 5:10pm: Jorge De La Rosa (1-1 8.80 ERA) vs. Alfredo Simon (0-1 12.15 ERA)
De La Rosa will look to build off his last start which was a quality outing. De La Rosa has had some success against the Reds lineup, but the sample size is small so it is hard to tell if he can build off of that. Simon has not started the year well, and a hot Rockies lineup is not a good team for him to get back on track against. The Rockies could very well have a field day at the hitter friendly Great American Ball Park.
Wednesday, April 20th 10:35am: Chad Bettis (2-0 2.95 ERA) vs. Raisel Igelsias (1-1 3.24 ERA)
Bettis has been the Rockies best pitcher so far along with Tyler Chatwood. This game does favor the Rockies and will be a good chance for them to win their third series on the road. Iglesias does not have much experience and has only ever faced Mark Reynolds. The lack of at-bats for the Rockies hitters could favor Iglesias pending he is able to keep the Rockies guessing. The Rockies play well in Cincinnati so this is a good chance for them to keep up their hot streak.
